This is a positive locking system so no braces required and allows maximum upper body movement.

The Sea Airprene 3/4 Waistlock Hiking Pants are a very popular choice for Summer conditions. The soft breathable perforated neoprene allows water to penetrate and cool the body. This is a fixed batten suit.

    Best hiking pants I know of

    Kudos to the Aussies for another clever product.

    Neoprene shorts & pants are great: Warmth, flotation (thus safety) and soften bruises. But the can droop down which is annoying & slow. Farmer Johns solve the problem but look goofy, can be too warm & most importantly hinder upper body rotation & bending.

    SEA's breakthrough is a superior waist cinch/ velcro to eliminating droop. Perforated neoprene is clever: keeps you warm but sheds excessive heat. Knee pad, like many, are good. Hiking battens reduces your exertion while still creating lots of righting moment.

    kudos to the Aussies for designing the best hiking pants;

    Farmer johns don't droop but they look goofy, can be too warm & most important hider upper body mobility. But pants sag down which is annoying, thus slow. SEA has, by far, the most secure double buckle system. Surprised others haven't yet mimicked. Also clever perforated 2.5mm neoprene keeps you warm but sheds excessive heat. As always, knee pads are appreciated & solid battens reduce hiking fatigue.

    Excellent product ideal for providing comfort and protection in a typically warmer sailing environment. I chose these based on Rod's recommendation as what he uses personally and I am glad to have had that insight. We both sail RS Aeros that have a fairly abrasive non skid surface that these pants provide padding and protection against chafe and rash. Thanks Rod!
