Designed to provide smoother mast articulation and improved structural efficiency, it allows the mast heel to pivot freely promoting a more consistent and controlled mast bend profile. This results in optimised rig setup, superior sail shape, and reduced loading stresses across the deck.

The updated design takes performance a step further, offering several key advantages over traditional tenon-style mast steps:

Performance Advantages:

• Centralised Load Path – Compression loads are taken directly through the centre of the mast tube, eliminating adverse bend effects caused by offset compression in older tenon types.
• Superior Torsional Resistance – The design effectively resists twisting forces from the gooseneck, maintaining alignment and improving rig stability.
• Precise Spreader Geometry – Exceptional torsional stability ensures spreader settings remain accurate, even under dynamic sailing loads.
• Durable Round Bar Design – The stainless-steel round bar is highly resistant to wear. Any wear that does occur after several seasons can be easily corrected by replacing the heel plug.
• Optimised Vang Load Transfer – The main kicking strap (vang) loads are efficiently transmitted through the main tubular bar, maintaining consistent tension across the mast’s raking range.
• Customisable Fitment – The system can be easily configured for specific classes, with the option to add extra fixings if required.
