The Sailteck GPS Compass is a high-performance sailing instrument designed to give competitive sailors precise, easy-to-read data when it matters most. Combining advanced dual-band GPS technology with Sailteck’s exceptionally clear twin display, it provides real-time speed, heading, heel, trim, countdown, time-of-day, and distance-to-line information in one compact and rugged instrument.

Built for racing, the GPS Compass tracks more than 30 satellites across multiple global constellations using L1 and L5 frequency bands. Its high-sensitivity ceramic patch antenna delivers highly reliable positioning with accuracy down to approximately 1 meter, while the integrated RTK-capable receiver can achieve centimeter-level precision when used with compatible RTK corrections.

Clear Data at a Glance

Sailteck’s twin-display design features large 30 mm digits and an ultra-wide viewing angle, making critical information easy to read while hiking, trapezing, or moving around the boat. The display is also optimized for use with polarized sunglasses, helping maintain excellent visibility in bright sailing conditions.

Built for Racing

The GPS Compass includes a tactical display for identifying wind shifts, an adjustable countdown timer, GPS atomic time, max-speed measurement, and distance-to-line functionality with bow and beam offsets. Heading, heel, and trim measurements offer accuracy to 1°, providing sailors with precise information for tactical decisions and performance analysis.

With up to 300 hours of onboard track storage, sailing data can be exported for post-race analysis and replay, making the GPS Compass equally valuable for racing and training.

Solar Powered and Ready for the Water

A high-efficiency solar panel keeps the instrument powered on the water, backed by approximately 200 hours of battery storage and integrated wireless charging. Its IPX8 construction is designed for demanding marine environments: the unit floats, features triple shock protection, has no exposed glass, and can remain submerged to a depth of 20 meters.

Adjustable Class Compliance

Two interchangeable keypads are included. The red keypad enables the full GPS feature set, including speed and line-distance information for classes where these functions are permitted. The grey keypad limits displayed information to class-legal Race Compass functionality while retaining GPS track logging capabilities.

Changing keypads takes only moments and does not compromise the instrument’s waterproof seal.

Ready for Future Sailteck Features

The GPS Compass is software upgradeable through the Sailteck Webapp. Planned free software upgrades expand its capabilities with Sailteck LIVE, track sharing, Bluetooth sensor support, race-start functionality, and long-range tracking, allowing the instrument to evolve as new racing and training features become available.
