For maximum strength, the attachment line must be fed around the central axle and through the head of the block. Where possible, use a crossed or through-threaded attachment method to keep the load pulling the side cheeks together. When using a soft shackle, crossed attachments are recommended. Non-crossed attachments should only be used in low-load applications.
