The bailer assembly is mounted to the hull of the ISCA to provide a way to drain water from the cockpit. The complete assembly has a housing that is mounted to the hull with a threaded cap that screws into the housing from the cockpit with a rubber plug to stop the flow of water. This is the standard system used on ISCA sailboats for many years.
